No. That is the whole point of it. On Boxing Day the countdown quietly starts counting the next Christmas, and everything you paid for keeps working. There is no subscription and no yearly version to buy.

Everything is stored on the phone itself and never uploaded, so a list does not follow you to a new handset on its own. Restoring an iPhone or Android backup that includes app data will bring it across.

To get the unlock back without paying again, open the app, go to More, and tap Restore purchases while signed in to the same App Store or Google Play account you bought it with.

Tap Restore purchases under More. If that does not do it, check you are signed in to the store account that made the purchase — on a family device it is often a different one. Still stuck? Email us and we will sort it.

It should not be able to: the widget works the date out itself every time it draws rather than remembering an old number. If it is ever wrong, remove the widget and add it again, and please email us — that would be a real bug and we would want to know.

Open the list, tap Share to their app, and you get a code to send them. They open the app, tap More, then Join a shared list, and put the code in. It lands in their app and they can tick things off themselves.

Only the list you shared travels. Sharing the food shop does not share your presents or your budget, and each Secret Santa gets their own code, so nobody sees anyone else's name.

Sixty days, then it is deleted automatically. You can also remove a share earlier from the app if you sent it to the wrong person.

Lock screen widgets need iOS 16 or newer. On the lock screen, press and hold, tap Customise, then tap the area under the clock and choose Sleeps till Christmas.

More → Daily nudge. If nothing arrives, check the app is allowed to send notifications in your phone's own settings — Android asks the first time and it is easy to dismiss by accident.

Refunds are handled by the store you bought it from, not by us. On iPhone use reportaproblem.apple.com; on Android use Google Play's order history. If something is broken, email us first — we would rather fix it.
